Stephanie HaddockStephanie was born in Columbia, Maryland and grew up in a rural township outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a Girl Scout and played soccer from the age of four. Stephanie returned to her native state to attend Washington College on the Eastern Shore in Chestertown. There she majored in English with a minor in Creative Writing. She was a contributing writer and then editor of the school's features magazine, The Collegian. She also worked as an editor of the Broadsides poetry series and was a part of the first editing staff for a new student-born literary magazine, The Medium. While in Chestertown, Stephanie also met her husband, whom she recently married.

After spending a couple of years at a desk job after graduation, she realized that wanted to take a different direction in life. Stephanie enrolled in the Massage Therapy program at the Baltimore School of Massage in Linthincum to become involved in the well-being of a community. There she learned not only more about the physical body in which we live, but more about herself emotionally. Now, whether it's providing relief from emotional stress or physical discomfort, she can literally reach out, touch someone, and change him or her in some way for the better.

Since beginning a practice at Achieve Wellness, Stephanie has become interested in promoting massage as a viable routine health practice, just like going to the dentist or visiting a physician for an annual check-up. The benefits are well worth the perceived cost as it can actually prevent more costly health care, such as dependence on pain medication or a costly surgery.

Stephanie enjoys learning new things and strives to do it almost constantly. She really enjoys yoga, crocheting and reading, and anything that makes her impact on the earth more eco-friendly. She regularly donates to breast cancer research foundations and participated in the Susan G. Komen Maryland Race for the Cure this past October in the memory of her mother-in-law.
